Sailing Voyage Southward from the Magellan Strait
November 26 - December 2, 2009


SV Santa Maria Australis (SMA) is a 66 foot ketch-type sailing yacht built in 1998 in Gdansk, Poland and refitted in 2004 to endure high latitude sailing conditions. She belongs to Turismo SIM (www.simexpeditions.com), a small private company based in Ushuaia and Puerto Williams that provides sailing, tracking and expedition possibilities south of 54th parallel including Cape Horn and the Antarctic Peninsula. SV Santa Maria Australis can accommodate up to a total of 12 people, her crew consists of just two people - skipper Jochen Rochau and skipper assistant Peter Allgeeier. She sails under German flag, registered in Berlin.
